How to Celebrate Little League's 75th Anniversary

2014 marks the 75th Anniversary of the Little League® program. It’s been an exciting 75-year trip around the baseball diamond and into communities. From humble beginnings in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, and with assistance from our wonderful volunteers, we’ve grown into the largest and best youth sports organization in the world.

Our 75th Anniversary is not a celebration just in Williamsport. It’s a celebration at local leagues everywhere. We would like to work with local leagues to spread the word of our monumental achievement, and each league’s important role in our success. We invite all leagues to celebrate with us, so we can provide the next generation of players with opportunities to benefit from the Little League experience.

Part of this year’s Charter & Marketing Toolkit is a 75th Anniversary Celebration Guide. The Guide includes helpful resources, including plans to work with the press in order to promote local leagues in conjunction with our 75th Anniversary. Also included are ideas on how to incorporate our Anniversary into already established events such as Opening Day and Team Photo Days.

On behalf of everyone in the Little League family, Happy 75th Anniversary, and, as always, thank you for your exemplary volunteer service for the Little League in your community.

Warm regards,
