Imperial Beach Little League Sculpts its 75th Celebration in Sand

Sand Sculpture 152

Imperial Beach Little League (IBLL) held its Opening Day Ceremonies on March 8. Celebrating the start of the 2014 IBLL season and the 75th Anniversary of the founding of Little League®, the most southwestern local Little League program in the United States unveiled this unique sand sculpture.

“When playing ball near the beach, what better way to celebrate the 75th year of Little League Baseball®,” said Don Spicer Imperial Beach League President, of the sand sculpture. “We wish to share this experience with our entire Little League family.”

The sand sculpture was done by The IB Posse, which is a group of former Little League players who now have children and grandchildren playing Little League.

With patches and banners available at LittleLeagueStore.net, the games played at your facility this season can take on a celebratory feel for the 75th Anniversary of Little League. From including alumni to special first pitches, learning more about your league’s history and sharing these moments with the media, the Celebration Guide in the Little League Chartering and Marketing Toolkit has everything you need to bring the celebration to your district. Share you celebrations by sending pictures to photos@LittleLeague.org
